Danny Schauffler is not only the gifted sax player for the Crazy 8's, but a great session guy for many other players. The 8's went into the OMHOF a few years ago and have played at several of the induction concerts, so this is his second time being recognized for his musical contributions that keep our city rockin'. He is also a dear friend, who teaches music and makes an impact daily on young musicians. We talk about his career, teaching, and getting the honor once again. I adore this man and his family. ~ Iris

As a huge Sons of Champlin fan, and just an overall fan of THE MAN, Bill Champlin, the upcoming two shows at Jimmy Mak's on October 13th will be legendary. One of the best storytellers I've ever met, Bill will be doing a singer/songwriter/storyteller solo show not to be missed. Duffy Bishop is a local treasure. She has shared a stage with the likes of Ruth Brown, John Lee Hooker, Lou Rawls, Bonnie Raitt, Shemekia Copeland, Bobby Blue Bland, Bill Champlin, and Bo Diddley who said "She's dangerous" when he played the Crystal Ballroom on his 75th birthday. Duffy and husband Chris Carlson are part of the rich musical landscape of Portland, and they have played KGON events through the years. Again, I'm coming into this as a fan, and I hope you enjoy catching up with her as much as I did!
